And then there are singers like Jethro Tull who play flute or other instruments.There are many examples of singers who play rhythm guitar (just about all do at some point.)Practically: if you sing while playing drums or keyboard, you will be limited on stage with how you can move. For example, Trent Reznor (singer-keyboard) will typically play keys for a couple of songs, then sing without playing the keys so as to interact with the audience.Singing while playing bass or lead guitar is more difficult, but it can be done with a lot of practice. Paul McCartney used to sing and play bass a lot; now that he's older and his reflexes are slowing down a bit, he doesn't play while singing as much.Hence, the popularity of the rhythm-guitar / singer combination. But uhh, generally speaking, it's hard to drum and sing at the same time, which is why you don't see any Drum Singers around. Bass is hard to play and sing at the same time, as some bass licks can get rather complex. You can do rhythm guitar. Lead guitar is doable, but like bass it can get hard. Key Board is good too, but it's visually not as cool nowadays. It worked for something corporate and panic, so yea. there you go.<br><b>References : </b><br> Really it should be what you do best in.
