Should I reveal the synopsis of my novel in my writing course?

I am in a writing course and have been using bits of a novel I wrote but still in it’s early stages during the course as a guide. Now we have to write an introduction and synopsis. I am afraid that if I reveal the story somebody will pinch my idea. But it will help me with the novel. Any suggestions?

    I’m sure that if it’s an accredited writing course then anything you produce would belong to you and you only. The course should have some kind of policy that lets you claim everything and anything you write is all your own work, and if someone does pinch your idea before you publish (if you choose to), then later on in life you can go back to these records showing that it was your story first and SUE THEM. Muahahaha!! Just make sure that when handing in assignments, you have some sheet saying that it’s your work, with the date and your signature on it. Shouldn’t be a problem

    Otherwise, the course would already have some kind of protection in place for it’s students work, so i wouldn’t worry about it too much.
