what wall color would go with robins egg blue counters/tile?

Author: admin  |  Category: Staging a House

I’m staging my house to sell and I’m not sure what to do with my master bath. The tile on the floor is that opaque tile from the 80′s and is like a dusty robins eggs blue. The woodwork will be white when I paint it, and the counter is the same dusty robins egg blue. Both are in good condition and I wouldn’t get the money back to change them, so I want to update the bathroom. What color should I paint the walls? I think white will be too stark.

paint you walls the lightest color of the robins egg blue color so pale that it almost looks white but is not so, dark color will overshadow the beauty and the style of your bathroom and will not look so good, going for a paler shade of the same color will lent more grace and elegance to the bathroom and make the colors harmonious too

I had the same problem with a house with that color blue in the tile AND the tub, sink and toilet. Actually, I found that a light cocoa brown can look very updated with robins egg blue — pick up some paint chip samples for light browns (that look like coffee with cream or like the color of a brown paper bag) and see which ones look best with the blue. There are a lot of nice accessories and towels in brown and blue combinations now, too.

Robins egg blue AKA Aqua is a very hot color right now. Paint the walls in the palest aqua in that family and consider a sand instead of white… As were coming into the warmer months a beach feel to the room would work nicely http://www.hotref.com/category/032109/Beach-theme-candle-holder_6480_r.jpg Get crafty and glue shells on a mirror frame. Sand colored towels and a rug will finish it off. http://beachhouselinens.com/catalog/images/natshell6x6-lg.jpg http://www.yourweddingcompany.com/images/custompages/tullephotos/beach_centerpiece.jpg

Blue with tans and browns have been a popular color combination in the past few years. Take it up a notch and add some coral accessories (not orange, not pink: Coral)

You will see that coral is a great fresh and unexpected compliment to your blue tiles and you will find that coral goes really well with tans and browns, too.

So, you may need to paint your vanity a dark chocolate brown and add new hardware if it needs to be updated. This would be a great anchor in the room and will pop against the white painted moldings.

If you have a tub, a sheer shower curtain (the color of the walls) with a clear plastic liner will give the illusion of more space.

Robin egg blue is not a bad color at all. Quite soothing actually. Try using off-white instead of a stark white. Some people like complementing it with the lightest shade of ocher color as well but white looks the best with robin egg blue.
