Remove personal items such as family photos.
De clutter bookcases and shelves.
Clear kitchen counters. Remove bottle of dish soap/sponges.
Straighten out closets and medicine cabinets.
Deep clean house, shine chrome fixtures, clean mirrors, windows.
Use a vanilla scented plug in air freshener.

There are a lot of shows on HGTV that have advice on how to do that. I cannot think of the name of them. If you stuff is gone, go to rent a center and maybe rent the stuff to make it look like a home for the open house, they (RAC) will set up everything and put it where you want then they will come pick it up for you too. It might cost you a little but it might help make the sale. Good luck!

I’ve never heard the term "staging your home for showing" but I’m assuming you mean you want tips on making your home appealing to prospective buyers when you are selling it.
Something I have always done with great success and always get comments on……….just before they are due to arrive for the open house or viewing, I turn a couple of my stove burners on high and splash a couple of drops of pure vanilla on them. When people come in, they always assume I’ve been baking cookies and they associate it with all sorts of nice homey memories! It seems to make the house feel warmer and more welcoming.
